LIVE DIFFERENTLY,
WHILE MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Built Better. The new Thornton Place has been built sustainably, using eco-friendly practices and materials, and was designed so that you can live a sustainable lifestyle.

The condominiums and apartments are certified “Built Smart” by the City of Seattle, who determined that “the buildings were designed and built to conserve resources while providing a healthy, comfortable living environment.”

Your new home is expected to earn a LEED Silver Certification, awarded for excellence in such vital areas as water efficiency, environmentally-friendly finishes, indoor air quality, proximity to mass transit and use of regional and recycled materials. Thornton Place is also a LEED for Neighborhood Development pilot project.

For a Better World. Conceived to be ecologically responsible by Lorig, and designed to be environmentally sustainable by Mithun Architects, Thornton Place is a shining example of what could and should be done in urban development. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Northgate neighborhood groups and Thornton Creek advocates, the political leadership of our Mayor and City, the problem solving skills of Lorig and the vision of Stellar Holdings, an old parking lot was replaced with a beautiful urban village and an urban watershed was enhanced.

The Thornton Creek Water Quality Channel, which had been buried underneath the asphalt concrete of Northgate Mall’s south parking lot for the last 50 years, was restructured to flow through the green space as a manmade stream. It will naturally filter watershed drainage as it passes through the vegetation in the streambed, ultimately reducing pollution in Thornton Creek.

For a Better Life. At Thornton Place, you will have plenty of places to park your car. Once you do, it may sit there for a while.

You can walk to the mall, stop by the grocery store, or to pick up a book at the library. With an express bus to downtown Seattle at your doorstop, you’ll soon discover the real value of living at Thornton Place.
